Join a conversation about dementias, labels and what it means to be human.
What do we as people affected or unaffected by dementia consider Quality of Life to mean?
Social scientist Emma Harding will be leading a conversation about the measures and scales used to capture 'quality of life' for people living with dementias, and whether these labels are useful for capturing the rich and complex areas of life we all experience.
In conversation with Alex Julyan, we invite you to consider ways in which we might involve people with dementias in creating new ways of capturing quality of life, and tailor questionnaire measures to focus more on the quality of experience.
This is part of Emma's Quality of Life DIY research project for Created Out of Mind. Read more here.
This is part of a series of events in Reading Room at Wellcome Collection in recognition of Dementia Action Week on 21st-27th May 2018 - inviting the public to discuss and debate universal topics within the context of dementia.
