Play it again

Music is known to elicit deep emotional and physical responses in people living with and without dementias.

Created Out of Mind invites people between the ages of 55 and 80 to take part in this musical experiment, which explores people’s relationship with familiar and unfamiliar music, by measuring physical changes such as pupil size and skin conductivity. The experiment is 30 minutes and will be at Wellcome Collection.

If you would like to take part, please contact playitagain@wellcome.ac.uk.

Visual art and colour: call for participants

Created Out of Mind researcher Janneke van Leeuwen invites people living with and without dementias to be part of our research, exploring how we engage with colour and visual art and how this might relate to dementia and brain functioning.

This will take the form of two eye-tracking experiments at Wellcome Collection, every Wednesday and Thursday up until the end of June 2018.

Please contact janneke.leeuwen.16@ucl.ac.uk if you are interested in getting involved.

Object-handling for people living with a dementia

Created Out of Mind researcher Laura Dickens is inviting people living with a mild to moderate dementia to take part in an object handling research study.

The object handling study will be running across 3 sessions and participants will need to attend all 3. They will run 10.30-12.30 at Wellcome Collection on Friday 23rd Feb, 2nd & 9th March 2018.

Please contact l.e.dickens299@canterbury.ac.uk for more information.

Exploring co-creativity

We are interested in how a co-creative approach to artistic practice might be thought of and defined in the area of arts and dementia.

As part of our research, we invite people living with dementias, artists and arts programme managers, who consider their work to be co-creative, to take part in this survey.
